Msaga Sumu (born Selemani Jabir Msonjele) is a legendary Tanzanian singer and songwriter widely revered as the “King of Singeli” and the “Mfalme wa Uswahilini” (King of the Streets). He is one of the foundational pioneers who helped transition Singeli from an underground subculture in the ghettos of Dar es Salaam into a national musical phenomenon. Known for his rapid-fire lyrical delivery and high-tempo beats, he has maintained a career spanning over 15 years.
