Mabantu
Mabantu is a popular Bongo Flava music group hailing from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The group consists of two talented artists Twaha Kanengo (Twaah Mabantu), Born on July 9, 1997 and Mwarami Kajonje (Muuh Mabantu), Born on January 21, 1999.
They started their journey in 2018 with songs like “Sundi,” “Bodaboda,” and “Kama Tulivyo” featuring Whozu. Initially, their style leaned towards the typical Bongo Flava sound. However, after some self-reflection and exploration of diverse music, they decided to experiment with a new sound. This unique sound they crafted became their signature style, influencing their name change to “Mabantu,” which is a word related to the Bantu people of Africa.
