John Simon Mseke, famously known as Joh Makini or “Mwamba wa Kaskazini” (The Rock of the North), is a legendary Tanzanian hip-hop artist, songwriter, and the CEO of Makini Music. Born on August 27, 1980, in Arusha, he is a founding member of the iconic hip-hop collective Weusi and is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted rappers in East Africa, known for his masterful use of metaphors and complex Swahili wordplay.
