Fid Q
Fid Q whose real name is Farid Kubanda, is a recording artiste from Tanzania. Fid Q was born on the 13th of August 1982 in Mwanza, Tanzania.
Fid Q started his music career in the 1990s. He released his first song in 2000, titled “Huyu na Yule”, which he sang with the artist Mr Paul. This song gave him great respect, and it was recorded in the MJ Records studio under the management of Master Jay himself.
Fid Q is one of the few artists from East Africa who maintain the important principles of Hip-Hop, such as education, graffiti, DJing, and promoting culture. In his song “Kibiriti”, which features the veteran artist Saida Karoli, Farid analyzes the book “The 4 Agreements” and explains the importance of not taking things personally as a way to attract success and live well with people.
Beyond his fame, Fid Q is a huge follower of books, and whenever he speaks to his fans, he appears to be a very wise person with a deep understanding of Hip-Hop and art in general.
He is an artist who has attracted many young people in East Africa to do Hip-Hop and develop poetry and freestyle. He believes that rap is what you do, Hip-Hop is how you live.
