Billnass
William Nicholaus Lyimo, professionally known as Billnass, is a prominent Tanzanian rapper and songwriter. Born on April 11, 1993, in Tanga, Tanzania, he hails from the Chagga ethnic group.
Early Life and Education
Billnass began his education at Mbuyuni Primary School in Tanga before transferring to Mkunguni Primary School in Dar es Salaam. He completed his secondary education at Oysterbay Secondary School. Pursuing higher education, he attended the College of Business Education in Dar es Salaam, earning a Diploma and later a Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management.
Musical Career
Billnass entered the music scene with his debut single “Raha,” which led to a nomination for “New Best Artist” at the 2015 Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards. In 2017, MTV Base recognized him as one of the “50 Artists to Watch.” His music blends hip hop with Bongo Flava, resonating with a broad audience. Notable tracks include “Bugana” featuring Nandy and “Tatizo.”
Personal Life
In July 2022, Billnass married fellow Tanzanian artist Nandy, solidifying their status as a power couple in the East African music industry.
