Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Harmonize has secured a nomination for Best East African Artiste at the 18th Headies Awards, putting him alongside some of the region’s most celebrated names. The Konde Gang founder will compete against Abigail Chams, Kenya’s Bien, Rwanda’s Bruce Melodie, and Uganda’s Joshua Baraka in a category that highlights the diversity of East Africa’s music scene.
The Headies, often called Nigeria’s Grammys, recognize outstanding achievements across African music, and the Best East African Artiste category has become a key spotlight for talent beyond Nigeria and West Africa. For Harmonize, the nod underscores his continued influence since launching Konde Gang after his departure from WCB Wasafi.
2026 has already been a busy year for the artist. He recently announced his upcoming album 31, set to release on September 4, featuring collaborations with Rayvanny, Yemi Alade, and Stonebwoy. The nomination adds to that momentum as he expands his reach across the continent.
